Our mission is to provide clients with a professional, trustworthy, and comprehensive building experience delivered by a skilled team dedicated to excellence, transparency, and personalized service.
Meet Our Expert Team
I am an Oregon-based residential designer, general contractor, and developer with over 30 years of experience spanning architectural design, construction, and land development. After graduating with honors in Architectural Design and Computer-Aided Drafting in 1991, I began my career gaining hands-on experience in residential design, building codes, and construction processes, quickly expanding into project management, infrastructure design, and cost analysis.
Over the course of my career, I have founded and led multiple companies, including S. Kem Design and Kem Development, delivering a wide range of successful projects. My portfolio includes custom homes, luxury residences (up to 14,000+ sq. ft.), remodels, multifamily housing, subdivisions, and mixed-use developments throughout the Portland metro area, Washington, and the Oregon coast.
I have worked with both regional and national builders and developed long-standing relationships within the industry, earning a reputation for producing efficient, high-quality designs and delivering projects on time. My experience also includes managing large-scale developments, such as townhome communities, multi-lot subdivisions, and mixed-use residential projects, as well as navigating permitting processes and development planning.
Today, my work continues through Kem Development, Inc., where I focus on custom home building, residential development, and investment projects, with several completed, sold, and ongoing developments across Oregon.
